Alder Internet FAQs

Questions about NBN, managed Wi-Fi, Family Safe and getting connected.

Clear answers to common questions from Australian households and businesses considering Alder Internet.

Is Alder Internet available across Australia?
Alder provides internet services to eligible Australian addresses, subject to NBN and network availability. Use the Get Connected flow to check your address and available service options.
What makes Alder different from a normal ISP?
Alder is designed as a managed ISP. In addition to the internet connection, eligible customers can use supported managed networking, Wi-Fi assistance, remote diagnostics and network-level safety options so more of the connection experience sits with one provider.
Does Alder offer unlimited-data NBN plans?
Yes. Alder's current residential NBN plans include unlimited data. Plan speed and availability vary by address, NBN technology and network capability.
What is managed Wi-Fi?
Managed Wi-Fi uses compatible networking equipment that Alder can support more deeply than a typical bring-your-own-router setup. Depending on the environment, this can include assistance with connection status, Wi-Fi settings, guest networks, firmware and remote diagnostics. See Managed Wi-Fi.
Can I use my own router?
Yes, compatible bring-your-own routers can be used. Support is generally limited to connection settings and reasonable basic troubleshooting. Full remote management and deeper Wi-Fi support may require compatible Alder-managed equipment.
What is Family Safe Internet?
Family Safe is Alder's network-level safety option designed to help reduce access to known malicious, phishing and inappropriate online destinations across supported devices connected to the home network. No filtering system is perfect, so it should be used alongside device controls and appropriate supervision.
Does Alder offer business internet?
Yes. Alder offers business internet for eligible Australian organisations, with managed networking, static IP options and Australian technical support. See Business Internet.
